Learn more about DSM’s Quality for Life and our Quali® family of products.
In 2011, DSM Nutritional Products and DSM Food Specialties were frontrunners in having the first production facilities certified according to FSSC 22000 – the most reliable for food safety.
DSM Nutritional Products has already invested €25 million in GMP-related activities, so can operate within state-of- the-art manufacturing and consistent quality control conditions.
We invest heavily in solutions that help our customers assure product quality. For instance, Delvotest® from DSM Food Specialties is the international gold standard in milk testing, helping farmers, milk control stations and dairies worldwide assure the quality of their milk.
DSM Nutritional Products trained a large East Asian disease control agency on vitamin and micronutrient analytical methods. Now, the governmental agency can confidently undertake analysis and quality control to ensure fortified foods meet expected specifications.
NUTRI-FACTS.org provides up-to-date, science-based information on the health impacts, requirements and safety of micronutrients. Content from recognized industry experts, supported by an independent scientific advisory board, delivers a reliable, non-commercial and balanced source of scientific information.
For instance, DSM Food Specialties delivers flavor ingredients to the same standards and specifications time and again, thanks to our dynamic semi-continuous reaction (DYSC) technology. DYSC technologies make the production process fully controlled, produce much more constant quality and control reactions carefully.
Our advanced systems can track, trace and recall products immediately. At DSM, mock recalls are carried out regularly and a dedicated response team is on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. This ensures minimal disruption to our customers’ product development and supply.
At DSM Nutritional Products manufacturing facilities, the raw materials used to produce ingredients and premixes – and their suppliers – must satisfy strict quality requirements. We provide complete transparency of origin while delivering consistently high-quality ingredients, irrespective of where they come from.
We develop effective, easy and affordable solutions that help improve the nutritional status of whole populations. DSM Nutritional Products’ MixMe™ vitamin mix sachets and NutriRice® fortified rice kernels provide malnourished populations with the vitamins and minerals that are absent from their nutritionally poor daily diets.
Providing solutions that help our customers reduce their carbon footprint is key for DSM. Enzymes facilitate efficient, sustainable production by accelerating certain reactions and reducing raw material usage, waste emissions and energy requirements. Successful examples of sustainability-enhancing enzymes include Panamore™ for baking, Rapidase® Smart for the fruit juice industry and Brewers Clarex™ for brewing.
Today, up to 30 percent of raw materials for food production and final food products are thrown away because of contamination and/or spoilage. First discovered in the DSM laboratories in 1955, Natamycin prevents the growth of molds and yeasts that spoil food, and is used across the food industry as a safe and effective preservative.
DSM has occupied the number one slot in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for five years. And in recognition of our commitment to corporate social responsibility, specifically our partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme, DSM CEO Feike Sijbesma received the 2010 Humanitarian of the Year Award from the United Nations Association of New York.
