There were only 25 companies worldwide that achieved a double A-rating.
How does a company that employs more than 25,000 people across the globe achieve double-A rating?
It doesn’t take sustainability lightly. Sustainability is an integral thread of DSM’s tapestry, from employee relations, product manufacturing and shipping procedures.
In 2014, DSM equipped its manufacturing facility in Belvidere, New Jersey with a 25-acre solar field to underscore the company’s commitment to sustainability and climate change goals.
DSM’s solar field produces approximately 30-40 percent of the Belvidere facility’s electricity needs at peak production and offsets CO2 emissions from the grid by more than 4,563 metric tons annually. To build a solar field of this scale, trees were removed. DSM replanted these trees to other locations throughout the facility’s grounds, further reducing its environmental footprint.
